Enter into His Rest IV
We have discussed the benefits and blessings that comes from this great rest the Lord has designed for us. This week, we are going to focus on the instructions concerning Rest. How do we qualify for it? How do we obtain it? Let’s look at Matthew 11:28-30, MSG.
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
One of the first things we need to is “come to God”. We must surrender to Him. Next, we must walk with God. Then, we must work with God. Finally, we must remain in Him. Let’s talk about the specific instructions we must understand concerning this.
- Don’t become every other thing in life at the expense of your calling (Genesis 30:30). Until we identify our calling- that is the one thing we must complete and complete well- we will never be able to rest.
- Don’t waste your preparation time (Psalm 78:9; Hosea 7:8). Don’t run away in the time of adversity! Be prepared and put that preparation to use. What is God preparing you for? Why is He preparing you for that? How is He preparing you for that?
- Conform into the image of Christ! Conform to Him. Conform to your destiny structure. If its required for your destiny to pray at least an hour per day, do it! Conform to the God-given family structure you’ve been assigned to (find your God-ordained church and stay there and work there!). Conform to your prophecy. Start walking in it!
God will help us to obey these instruction, in Jesus’ name!
